Commander Avatars, Live Alerts, and a Map & Combat Pass

11 New 10 Changed 1 Balance 2 Fixed 1 Notice

The changelog is a regular thing now: anything that meaningfully changes how the game plays or looks will be posted here. This is the first one.

Commanders

3 changes
The RealmConquest commander avatar builder showing body, uniform, headgear, hair, face, and background options with color palettes.
Build a custom commander in Profile -> Avatar: body, uniform, headgear, hair, face, and background, each colored from curated palettes.
#
Build a custom commander in Profile -> Avatar: pick a body, uniform, headgear, hair, face, and background, then color the skin, uniform, hair, and background from curated palettes. #
Your avatar shows on your profile and on the Players and Alliances board emblems: the top player and the leading alliance's commander. #
Never set one? You now get a commander generated from your account, so you are never a blank icon. #

Live alerts

4 changes
The RealmConquest live alerts drawer showing incoming radar warnings, scan reports, and outpost notifications.
The live alerts drawer keeps incoming threats and recent notifications available from the top bar.
#
A new alerts drawer lives in the top bar. Incoming attacks and nukes sit at the top and stay until they actually resolve. #
Incoming attacks are easy to see

#
Notifications sit below the threats and clear once you have read them. #
An unread count rides on the button, so you can keep the drawer closed and still know something is waiting. #
Everything is color-coded by type: attacks and nukes red, alliance invites purple, gifts and resources gold, plus battle reports, scan reports, messages, and the daily bonus. #

Map & combat

9 changes
Squads render as actual ship sprites, colored by your relationship to the owner: own, alliance, ally, enemy, neutral, personal-ally, personal-enemy. #
Squads scale up while in flight so they are easier to track across the map. #
Multi-squad formations fan out while traveling and collapse to a single hull when they stop. #
Shielded colonies show a blue dome; colonies under lockdown show a red dome and a badge. No more reading it off the marker. #
Jammed colonies and outposts get a red warning ring, plus a "JAMMED" tag on the hover and target cards. #
The ion cannon now shows a real hit: a column of light, a core flare, impact rings, and a short screen shake. #
Hovering a squad shows a small card: name and unit count for yours, owner for everyone else, ETA when it is moving, and it follows the squad as it travels. #
Zooming cross-fades colonies between detail levels instead of popping. #
Send squad closes the order dialog right away, and the ship lifts off its colony or outpost and accelerates onto its path instead of snapping there. #

Interface & quality of life

5 changes
Resource totals update without a refresh. They flash green on a gain and red on a loss, with a small +/- number that floats up and fades. Respects reduced-motion settings. #
Map tools are collected into one strip at the bottom of the rail: Build Outpost, Alliance Markers, Territory, Strategy Advisor, each lit while active. #
Choose where the minimap sits in your settings, collapse the right rail, and your layout is remembered between sessions. #
Covert actions are clearer: Recruit Spy, Position Spy, Plant Agent, and Covert Op only appear when they are actually possible, with a recruitment progress bar and an inline reason when something is locked. #
The lockdown action lists its requirements now: covert level, energy, a seated agent, infiltration, with progress on each. #

Balance

1 change
Bots reach for hostile and neutral outposts less, leaning more on colony attacks and economy plays. #

Fixes

2 changes
Clicking an in-flight squad selects it reliably now. #
A squad parked on a colony or outpost no longer swallows clicks meant for the structure underneath it. #

Heads up

1 change
A dismissible closed-beta banner now appears on the login, register, and realm-select screens (never in-game). Open beta is later in 2026, and early registrants get a pre-launch supporter badge. #

If something feels off or breaks, tell us in-realm. Beta is exactly when this stuff should be known.
